Voilà une composition bien charpentée, où l'aplomb nous ancre bien au sol ! Ombre et lumière, montée et descente, barrière infranchissable sans la clé et rambarde à enjamber en douce... L'homme y va d'un pas décidé et sûr mais il a gardé son collier radio pour les prières au Bon Dieu (Elégante silhouette au demeurant ; l'homme, pas le Bon Dieu). Ou pour relater aux siens les expériences traversées... car pour être solitaire, il n'en serait pas moins aimant aimé.

La silhouette, droite, volontaire, est à l'image des grands Hommes de la Crypte, où chacun d'eux a marché courageusement vers un destin glorieux, a gravi les degrés vers cette lumière qui éclaire les consciences et maintient, vivant, le souvenir.
Une image vraiment belle, où l'homme, debout, sortant de l'ombre, semble quitter le peuple des gisants.

This has a haunting feeling about it like walking into the unknown . . .and the geometry seems to suggest that his climb might offer nothing other than an alternative way down. Life often feels like that.

Who is this man, where is he going - and why? Those questions make the image compelling.

Il en impose par sa droiture, et ta composition est superbe.

On dirait O'bama qui te guide dans la lumière blanche de sa maison de la même couleur....Incroyable la ressemblance , le pas assuré , une certaine classe. Un commentaire qui n'a rien de spirituel , contrairement à ton guide de coeur, mais c'était mon ressenti visuel , la première approche. Sinon, il est important d'être bien accompagné , surtout pour franchir les marches de la vie.

Sorry for my late arrival! I have to think in earnest to comment on your pictures and I needed real head space today. That's because I finished a script today and finally sent it off. I can't believe it. I can start to be human again. And make my way through life again with your handy life guide. That is an excellent shot with beautiful natural light. I love the figure walking so upright, ascending, with purpose. The stairs leading up and seemingly leading down again and a cage beneath. It seems there are many paths to take and many ways to go astray. But his upright figure is so purposeful that it gives hope. Just follow that man. He knows the way. Really it looks like a shot from a movie. That's what I love the most about it. Cut! :)

Les barreaux, les marches, les angles, l'ombre représentent pour moi les nombreux obstacles que nous rencontrons dans la vie. Et puis, il y a lui, l'ami en qui on a toute confiance qui sait nous parler, nous écouter, nous conseiller... celui qui sait nous tendre la main, nous prêter son épaule, celui en qui on a foi, celui qui dans les moments les plus douloureux où l'on touche le fond, nous aidera à mettre nos pas dans les siens pour nous guider vers la lumière.
Une image qui me remue les tripes, peut-être parce que celle que je croyais être mon amie, m'a laissée en bas des marches le jour où j'avais tant besoin de ses pas ! Une blessure qui ne cicatrise pas malgré les années, un deuil que je n'arrive pas à faire. Notre amitié était si forte, si complice... je la croyais éternelle, indestructible... nous n'en avions pas les mêmes valeurs.
Mais pourquoi je n'ai pas juste vu un beau mec qui grimpait des marches, hein ?

Just browsed the last half dozen or so of your postings after being away in our Suffolk bolthole ...good stuff. The boy with his scooter is pure delight in his own world and totally unaware of the tantalysing shadows. Today's is also good reminds me of one of mine (man sitting alone on steps ) posted some 18 months ago I think ... and of course I have my fairly recent image of a boy with a scooter ... great minds K' ha! ;-)

The subject's assured stride and almost regal stance - against the man-made light and geometry - all combine for a surreal feeling to this image. A most compelling image.

For a split second I thought he is going to be walking in circles then I noticed the open door at the top of the stairs... Sometimes we walk with our eyes covered and walk in circles... There's always an open door that leads into the right direction... the question is... do we look for it and see it? or do we keep the covers on our eyes and walk in circles?

Oh my god... my first thought was: "Hey... Karine knows Obama personally... who would have thought it?" ... and then I thought "What an absurd idea!" ... but know I read that I'm not the only one with this... that's somewhat comforting, believe me... ;)
