A muslim praying in the silence of this beautiful mosque not overcrowded with tourists, his hands covering his ears at the beginning of his prayer ~

@amirreza: It's very personal - i needed some inner silence and i can hear its voice here ;/ Plus such places, mosque like churches, are so peaceful : you hear silence first, and then of course the voice of the God you believe in... Hope it's clearer now and no misfit :) See U*

Quel titre bien choisi pour exprimer le recueillement et la sérénité que l'on ressent dans toutes ces mosquées d'Istanbul en contraste avec la frénésie extérieure !

Lieu de silence et d'émerveillement. Et toutes ces petites lampes sont affeusement jolies... j'veux les mêmes ! :-) Bien joué Miss pour ce shoot qui nous laisse à voir ce très bel endroit... je dois t'avouer que j'ai peu d'occasion d'entrer dans une mosquée !

cette déco surchargée est superbe ! de même que la lumière qui entre, on sent le silence, le recueillement et j'aime le geste millénaire de cet homme à sa prière. c'est rare de voir une telle photo, tu as osé :o) merci de nous faire entrer dans cette intimité. ton titre ( superbe ) me fait penser à " sound of silence " de Simon & Garfunkel, ça y est je l'ai dans la tête ;-) bisous miss !

@Anna.C: Ah oui, tu as raison, Sound of silence, c'est un peu ça... Je l'entends et c'est bon (mon silence intérieur, pas la chanson :) Et oui aussi pour la lumière, le recueillement... Je n'étais pas la seule à photographier mais les autres braquaient sur les faïences, moi, s'il n'y a pas d'êtres humains dans le champ, j'm'ennuie :) Merci de ton com clairvoyant et plein de bisous (épuisée... à ne rien faire que des photos ! mais ça fait du bien)

C'est très joli une mosquée je n'avais jamais vu. Beaucoup de détail, je me demande comme faire pour prier dans un décor aussi chargé, on ferme les yeux et on se concentre. Moi aussi avant de lire je croyais qu'il photographiait :-)

I'm working on a project in Riyadh and the client and consultant groups came to our office for a week long meeting several weeks ago. One day during the meeting one person just stood up and said he has to pray and went to the corner of the room and started praying. I wasn't in that meeting but told about the incident afterward, but how powerful was that message sent to the whole team where majorities were Americans! You have to respect one's religion and belief to gain mutual respect as well!

Wow, this is such a fantastic capture and post-processing!!! Don't know how you did it... but every element is amazing - the clarity, the details, the textures, the light, the 3-dimensional effect... And all these have been blended together so nicely to enhance a wonderful feel of being there. I could hear the "silence"! You're a genius!:-)

@lydia: ;o) La prochaine fois, n'hésite pas à aller la visiter, et tout autour, c'est plein de marchands dans des ruelles très étroites. D'ailleurs, pour accéder à cette mosquée de Rüstem Pasa, il faut emprunter un escalier étroit et sombre au fond d'une ruelle. J'ai adoré (juste derrière le Marché Egyptien/Bazar aux épices). Bises ~
@véronique: Il faut lire la légende, ce n'est pas du tout la Mosquée bleue :)) j'ai déjà répondu plus longuement above :)))) Mais tu as raison, c'est l'une des perles du collier d'Ist ! Bises

As I remember it from my visit to Istanbull many years ago, it looks like The Blue Mosque. I remember the big glass lamps hanging very low over the floor.
Very Impressive. And as you say yourself, it is very silent there.
