Color in the foreground and monotones in the background, The building seems to be coming forward as the ship is backing up to depart. You are the Captain and the voyage is on. I find this a very engrossing creation. Soooo ! Coool !

Une photo à haute teneur symbolique !
Cette cheminée de bateau idéalement incorporée dans la photo est une incitation au voyage et contraste à merveille avec l'imposante basilique Ste Sophie. La tonalité utilisée est remarquable et me rappelle mes photos d'enfance en vacances dans les années 70. De l'évasion à l'état pure !

@Vink: Oui, le jaune (un peu baveux :) des photos des Seventies ! Tu as tout à fait raison... Lors d'une inondation dans la cave de la maison de mon enfance, beaucoup de ces clichés 7O's ont été noyés, leurs couleurs délayées dans une affreuse pâte collante - irrécupérables... Tandis que les petits carrés N&B des années 30 sont restés intacts : un petit coup de coton tige et tous les visages des aïeux sont réapparus...... Qu'adviendra-t-il de nos travaux en numérique dans qq décennies ?............... Bisous*

évidemment si tu me prends par les sentiments et mes souvenirs de Stamboul ;-) Sainte Sophie semble sortir tout droit de mon vieil album, j'entends les rumeusr du port d'ici, les vendeurs de sardines et les sirènes de bateaux....ton cadrage est comme une petite fenêtre ouverte sur mes souvenirs, ton choix de traitement est tout personnel, on aime ou pas ;-) bon week-end

@Anna.C: En fait, tu sais, comme je l'écris plus haut à Marcah, contrairement à ce qu'on pourrait penser, je n'ai quasi pas usé de post-traitement ici : la chaleur diffusait déjà ce halo, et l'original est très, très proche de ce que tu vois là... Je ne l'avais pas vraiment prémédité en prenant ce cliché, et c'est ce qui m'a plu : inconsciemment, le passé qui vient à la rencontre, en teintes délavées, de mon travail sur mes origines, au présent... Le hasard, quoi (qui n'existe pas, comme chacun sait ;-) Bonne journée, Anna

C'est troublant dans son contraste, quelle lumière sur cet édifice somptueux en décallage avec cette cheminée vive et éclatante de chaleur. j'aime cette idée de fenêtre qui nous raconte ...

I agree with so many others. I am transported! I can imagine a tear and a far-away smile on your grandmother's face. It makes so much sense, and you have captured it here. A magical place and the way to get there ... but, in two DIFFERENT realms! Alas! This is a wonderful image.
